Cards!

Thank You for Caring Cards featuring LABEL ME PRETTY and SHARE WHAT YOU LOVE!

Card 139 (1)

Hi Stampin’ Peeps!

Today I’m sharing a Thank You card that is simple, but beautiful—and it’s great for multiples! I used the LABEL ME PRETTY Stamp Set for the sentiment, and by using two different sheets of DSP from the SHARE WHAT YOU LOVE Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack, I was able to use two different card base colors, but still keep things easy by using the same color mat and ink on each card!

The SHARE WHAT YOU LOVE DSP is a large pack of DSP (you get 24 sheets, 4 of each design—instead of the usual 12, 2 of each design), and four of the sheets have one pearlized side to add a “little extra” to all of your projects! (I didn’t use any of the pearlized sheets in today’s cards!)

Card 139 (2)

Before we get started, here is the list of DSP and Cardstock you’ll need:
(This list is to make one of each card!)

–Two pieces of Cardstock, measuring 8-1/2in x 5-1/2in, and then scored at 4-1/4in. (These are your card bases.) We need one in Petal Pink, and one in So Saffron.
–Two pieces of Old Olive, measuring 5-1/4in x 4in. (These are the mats for your cards.)
–Two pieces of DSP, measuring 5in x 3-3/4in.
–A scrap of Whisper White, large enough to stamp two sentiments, and punch them out using the 1-3/8in SCALLOP CIRCLE Punch (approximately 3-1/5in x 2in).
–A scrap of Petal Pink, approximately 2in square.
–A scrap of So Saffron, approximately 2in square.
(The 2in scraps are to mat the sentiments using a 1-1/2in CIRCLE Punch!)

Here is how to make the cards:

1. Gather all of the DSP and Cardstock you need to complete the two cards.

2. Using Old Olive, stamp two sentiments on the scrap of Whisper White Cardstock.

3. Using the 1-3/8in SCALLOP CIRCLE PUNCH, punch out both sentiments. Use the 1-1/2in CIRCLE PUNCH to punch out a circle from the Petal Pink scrap, and one from the So Saffron scrap.

4. Using SNAIL, layer the DSP onto the mats, and then layer the mats onto the card bases. Next, use SNAIL again to layer the sentiments onto the 1-1/2in Circles.

5. Use STAMPIN’ DIMENSIONALS to adhere the sentiments to the cards. (Check pic for placement!)

6. Use the PAPER-PIERCING TOOL–or the TAKE YOUR PICK TOOL–to adhere three BASIC RHINESTONE JEWELS to the card. I placed one on the sentiment above the “a” in “Thank,” and two on the DSP. (See pic for placement!)

And…you’re done!

Happy Stampin’! 🙂

Cards!

Thank You Card featuring PAINTED HARVEST and ABSTRACT IMPRESSIONS!

Card 138 (1)

Hi Stampin’ Peeps!

You knew I had to do it! I’ve been literally DYING for a purple sunflower, and we FINALLY have the colors to do it! The Color Revamp that came with the release of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog was a much needed change, but the addition of Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape were the big wins for me!! (Honestly, I’m also in love with all of the Brights, Blackberry Bliss, Shaded Spruce…and so many more! LOL!)

Anyway, I’ve been wanting to make this card for awhile, and I LOVE the way it turned out! For the sunflower, I used the PAINTED HARVEST Stamp Set, and for the sentiment, I used ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONS! The leaves were stamped with a stamp from PAINTED HARVEST, and then punched with the LEAF PUNCH! Oh, and don’t forget the background…I used the BASKET WEAVE Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder for the background!

The result is beautiful, but it’s also versatile! If for some reason you don’t like purple (gasp!) you can switch up the colors to something you do like! 🙂

NOTE: Stamping this sunflower involves three steps: the lighter petals, the darker petals, and the center of the flower. I have always had trouble with two-step stamping (stamping one image on top of the other)–until I got my STAMPARATUS! If you haven’t tried this tool yet, you are really missing out! It has two, double-sided plates, and I used three sides to line up all of my stamps, and then I stamped my image easily–and in one try! The STAMPARATUS is simply amazing, and once you try it, you’ll wonder how you ever stamped without it! 😉

Okay, so we need to make this thing!

Here are the deets on the Cardstock! You need:

–One piece of Highland Heather, measuring 11in x 4-1/4in, and scored at 5-1/2in.
–One piece of Soft Suede, measuring 5-1/4in x 4in.
–A scrap of Whisper White large enough to stamp your sunflower, and cut it out using the 3rd largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, and with additional room to stamp two sets of leaves. (Approximately 5in x 3in.)
–A piece of Whisper White, measuring 2-1/4in x 3/4in (this is for your sentiment.)
–A scrap piece of Granny Apple Green to stamp two sets of leaves.
–A piece of Granny Apple Green, measuring 3in x 1/2in.
–A piece of Gorgeous Grape, measuring 3in x 3in.

Card 138 (2)

Here is how to make your card:

1. After gathering all of the Cardstock needed, it’s time to stamp! Stamp all three steps of the sunflower onto the scrap piece of Whisper White. Remember: The sunflower is a three-step stamp, so first stamp the larger, lighter layer of the sunflower with Highland Heather, and then stamp the darker, smaller layer of the sunflower with Gorgeous Grape. Use Soft Suede for the middle of the flower.

2. After stamping the sunflower, use Gorgeous Grape to stamp the sentiment on the piece of Whisper White, measuring 2-1/4in x 3/4in. Finally, stamp the leaves in Granny Apple Green: Stamp two sets of leaves on the scrap of Whisper White, and stamp two sets on the scrap of Granny Apple Green!

3. Use the LEAF PUNCH to punch out all four sets of stamped leaves. Next, put the piece of Soft Suede into the Embossing Folder, and run it through the big shot. NOTE: Line up the piece of Cardstock with one row of the “basket weave” so the embossing will be straight.

4. Use your BIG SHOT, and the STITCHED SHAPES FRAMELITS Dies to cut out the sunflower. (I used the 3rd largest circle for this step.) Next, use the LAYERING CIRCLES FRAMELITS Dies to cut out a mat for the sunflower.

5. Now it’s time to put our card together! First, use DIMENSIONALS to adhere the embossed piece of Soft Suede to the card base. Next, use SNAIL to adhere the sunflower circle to the Gorgeous Grape circle, and then use SNAIL again to adhere the sentiment to the piece of Granny Apple Green, measuring 3in x 1/2in.

6. Use MINI GLUE DOTS to adhere the leaves to the back of the layered sunflower piece, and then use DIMENSIONALS to adhere the sunflower to the Soft Suede mat (the embossed piece on the card.) You will also use DIMENSIONALS to adhere the sentiment to the card! (NOTE: See pic for placement of the sunflower and sentiment!)

And…that’s it!! Isn’t it beautiful? (!!) All of the supplies are listed below, including the STAMPARATUS–but I’ve also included the CLEAR BLOCKS just in case you’re not sold on the STAMPARATUS…YET! 😉

Happy Stampin’! 🙂

Holly, Jolly, & Bright Christmas Card featuring PEACEFUL NOEL and DASHING ALONG!

Card 137 (1)
Hi Stampin’ Peeps!

I’m super happy with the way this card turned out! Cherry Cobbler is one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! colors for Christmas, and the DASHING ALONG DSP is printed with Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, and Whisper White! You can’t look at this paper and not get into the Christmas spirit!

Card 137 (3)

Yesterday, you may have seen the above pic I posted! I shared how I’ve been fussy cutting out the stars from that fab piece of DSP! (NOTE: I also shared how the small star from the TAKEOUT TREATS FRAMELITS will cut out the small star perfectly!) Anyway, what I didn’t share was that I also applied glitter to my cutouts using my WINK OF STELLA GLITTER BRUSH PEN! You can see a little glitter in the card pic, but it’s so much more sparkly in person! (PS: More projects with these stars are coming soon!) 😉

Here’s the deets on the Cardstock and DSP needed to make this card!

You need:
–One piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, measuring 8-1/2in x 5-1/2in, and scored at 4-1/2in. (This is your card base.)
–One piece of DASHING ALONG DSP, measuring 5-1/4in x 4in.
–Stars! You’ll need one large star, and two small stars for the front of your card; and then you’ll need another small star for the inside of your card.
–One piece of Silver Foil, measuring 2-1/2in x 1-3/4in.
–One piece of Cherry Cobbler, measuring 2-1/4in x 1-1/2in.
–One piece of Whisper White, measuring 2in x 1-1/4in (this is for your sentiment.)
–One piece of Whisper White, measuring 5in x 3-3/4in (this is also for the inside of your card.)

Because Cherry Cobbler is so dark, we need a mat on the inside of our card. I also added one of the stars for a cute accent! Check out the inside of the card:

Card 137 (2)

Here’s how to make your card:

1. Cut out all of the pieces of Cardstock and DSP needed for your card. Next, lightly brush all of the stars with the WINK OF STELLA GLITTER BRUSH, and set them aside. (They only need a couple of minutes to dry.)

2. Fold your card base on the score line, and use SNAIL to apply the large piece of DSP to the base.

3. Stamp your sentiment on the small piece of Whisper White Cardstock using Cherry Cobbler Ink, and then layer your sentiment, with the small piece of Cherry Cobbler and the piece of Silver Foil.

4. Apply the sentiment to your card using SNAIL. (Check the pic above for placement.)

5. Take the roll of MINI SEQUIN TRIM, and gently lay the trim on your card. I started in the lower right corner, made a loop, and ended in the upper left corner. (See sample!) (NOTE: Leave the trim connected to the roll until you decide on your design, and how you want it to lay on your card. Following my card, you’ll use 8-9in of trim.) Once you’re happy with the placement of your trim, cut the trim from the roll, and secure it to your card using MINI GLUE DOTS–secure the beginning and end under each small star, and then secure both sides of the loop under the large star. That’s all you need!

6. Once your trim is in place, use DIMENSIONALS to adhere the stars to the card, and then use your PAPER PIERCING TOOL to adhere three RHINESTONE BASIC GEMS! (See sample for placement of the stars and the gems!)

7. Using SNAIL, adhere the larger piece of Whisper White to the inside of your card, and then use SNAIL again to adhere a small star to the lower right corner of the mat.

And…you’re done! Isn’t this card simply gorgeous?!!
